⚙️ New Tool Alert: AI Lineage Explorer by EQTY Lab
Shipped: January 2024
What It Is: EQTY Lab announced the AI Lineage Explorer, a state-of-the-art tool designed to enhance transparency in AI development. Hosted natively on Hugging Face, this tool allows users to trace and visualize the provenance of AI models, covering aspects from data sources and architecture to computation and governance.
Why It’s a Big Deal: In an era where the integrity of AI is paramount, the AI Lineage Explorer stands out by offering tamper-proof credentials and anchors that attest to each stage of the AI training process. It aligns with W3C standards and leverages Hedera IPFS to build trust from data ingestion to model inference.
The Big Picture: By providing a clear, interactive map of an AI model's development journey, it ensures that every step, from the initial data to the final model, is transparent and accountable. This is crucial for industries and researchers who value ethical AI practices and need to ensure their models adhere to the highest standards of integrity.

🚀 From Earth to Orbit: Filecoin Foundation's IPFS Deployment in Space
In a first-of-its-kind (and out-of-this-world!) mission, Filecoin Foundation, in collaboration with Lockheed Martin, successfully deployed the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) in a space mission. This initiative involved transmitting data, including the IPFS white paper and an image of the Filecoin Foundation’s mascot Biscuit the FileCorgi, to an orbiting CubeSat and back using a custom IPFS implementation on Lockheed Martin's SmartSat platform. This successful demonstration propels the vision of utilizing decentralized technologies for efficient and secure space networking.

🔦 Spotlight: Oyedeji Oluwoye, co-founder and CTO of Canza Finance
In this spotlight, we introduce Oyedeji Oluwoye, the co-founder and CTO of Canza Finance. Hailing from Sydney, Australia, his expertise in Layer 1 networking and Web3 development has positioned him as a key figure in blockchain innovation.
Tell us a bit about yourself.
My name is Oyedeji Oluwoye I’m a blockchain enthusiast with expertise in the fields of Layer 1 intercontinental networking, network architecture, and Web3 software development with over twelve years of industry experience.
How did you get into Web3?
I got into Web3 back in 2015 when I had to pick a topic for my Computer Master’s Thesis. That’s when I first learned and discovered Bitcoin. I read about the Western Union fees model and have gone down the rabbit hole ever since. Web3 is such a great space with real use cases and utilization in emerging and frontier markets. I will be active in this space for the long run. because I can see the actual end positives on the ground in Africa.
What advice would you give to someone joining Web3?
Always be ready to learn from others, because builders truly aim to build a product that solves real problems. Web3 and blockchain technology is cutting edge and I would love to be back in my early 20s and dive straight into this field with all the resources and documentation that is available now.
What challenges or rough edges would you like to see solved in Web3?
There are many challenges I would love to see being solved in the world that can be done via Web3. Being based in Africa, I would love to see a lot more trade finance and KYC tools developed to assist with many of the hurdles I see on the ground here now. I would love for Web3 to really solve the identification challenges here to give everybody the opportunity to have global access to resources and systems to assist with their everyday lives.
What are your favorite podcasts or books?
Digital Gold by Nathaniel Popper to me is the best book when it comes to storytelling of the early days of Bitcoin. It was the first book I purchased about the Web3 space.
Tell us something you like to do for fun.
I like to go for walks and play strategy games like Warcraft and Starcraft. I love to travel and explore the world. Traveling opens up my vision and brings things into focus. It shows me the reality of what’s possible.
